Document Description
As the Lead Agency, the City of Corcoran, reviewed this project in accordance with CEQA Guidelines Section 15002(k) (General Concepts, the three-step process for deciding which document to prepare for a project subject to CEQA), and Section 15061 (Review for Exemption, procedures for determining if a project is exempt from CEQA). This project is exempt from CEQA because (1) it will not result in the physical alteration of the environment, (2) the new street sweeper will generate fewer greenhouse gas emissions than the existing equipment, and (3) the new street sweeper will be operated and maintained in accordance with all adopted procedures and regulations in effect. This equipment will only be operated within the City of Corcoran’s existing street right-of-way. This project is being proposed as a means to protect and enhance the local air quality by operating cleaner and more environmentally friendly street maintenance equipment.
