Document Description
The Palm Desert Operations Parking Lot Rehabilitation – Phase 2 Project (Project) proposes to rehabilitate and restore the existing parking lot pavement at the Coachella Valley Water District’s (CVWD) Operations & Critical Support Services Building Employee’s Parking Lot. This project will perform rehabilitation and pavement restoration by removing existing old and deteriorated concrete asphalt and aggregate base materials up to approximately 12 inches to allow for replacement of new 3-inch concrete asphalt over 5-inch class II aggregate base materials. The removal and replacement of concrete asphalt and aggregate base materials will be completed on the Palm Desert Operations employees’ parking lot located on the west side of the Operations & Critical Support Services buildings. The rehabilitation and pavement restoration are to include repairs, maintenance, sealing, replacements, restoration, and alterations as necessary. The existing Palm Desert Operations & Critical Support Services employee parking lot has 236 stalls vacated, including three Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) - compliant parking spaces and six Clean Air Vanpool Electric Vehicles; there will be no extra parking spaces added during construction.
The Project is anticipated to take place over the course of 3 months; all work will take place on CVWD property. CVWD property site is located in rural residential areas, and is not within a conservation area of the Coachella Valley Multiple Species Habitat Conservation Plan (CVMSHCP).
