Document Description
The applicant is proposing an increase in herd size from 2,443 animal units to 3,812 animal units, an addition of a feed storage area (350’ x 350’), construction of a new lagoon and anaerobic digester and ancillary equipment at the existing Moonstone Dairy. The project is located at 1305 Iona Avenue, Hanford, Assessor’s Parcel Number 016-230-007 and 016-230-018. The proposed application includes the installation of an anaerobic digester, two (2) sand traps, a process pit, a mechanical separator, a manure stacking pad, and a biogas conditioning pad. The biogas produced by the digester is proposed to be transported through a low-pressure pipeline to an onsite biogas conditioning pad for cooling and compression prior to entering a biogas collection line. It will then be transported to a centralized biogas upgrading facility, located on Assessor’s Parcel Number 148-030-018 in Tulare County (Tulare County Special Use Permit No. PSP 18-014), for conditioning and electrical generation.
