Document Description
The project will renovate existing office spaces in the Plant 1 Control Center Building. Renovation will occur in two different office areas located on the first floor of the building, which is the Operations Supervisor Office area and Day Training Room. The renovation includes interior demolition of non-load bearing interior partitions and workstations, creation of new partitions, installation of new workstations, HVAC, floor tiles, acoustical ceiling tiles, lighting, receptacles and data outlets, wall paint, and office furniture.

Reasons for Exemption
This project is exempt from CEQA under the Class 1 categorical exemptions set forth in California Code of Regulations sections 15301. Section 15301 (Class 1) exempts from CEQA “the operation, repair, maintenance … or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities … involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond that existing at the time of the lead agency’s determination” including “(b) Existing facilities of both investor and publicly-owned utilities used to provide electric power, natural gas, sewerage, or other public utility services.” The project consists of maintenance and minor alterations to the office space and will not increase the process capacity or otherwise expand the current use.
