Document Description
The Sonoma County Public Infrastructure Bridge Preventative Maintenance Project entails a preventative maintenance program that includes application of surface treatments to 24 bridges located throughout Sonoma County (County) in order to extend the service life of existing concrete bridge decks. The 24 bridges include:

The County proposes to treat decks of the selected bridges with either a methacrylate resin or a polyester concrete overlay in order to protect the existing concrete and extend the service life of the bridge decks. All work will occur on the bridge decks with minor staging limited to roadways and shoulders. Replacement of guard rail may occur in areas where the rail is bolted to deck railings or concrete and no ground disturbance is required for replacement. No work is proposed on the underside of the bridge, and no trees are proposed for removal. Best management practices to protect waterways and the natural environment will be implemented.

Section 15301 (c) exempts the repair or minor alteration of existing highways and streets, sidewalks, gutters, bicycle and pedestrian trails, and similar facilities.
