Document Description
The scope of the project consists of the installation of new freestanding shade structures and minor site work to comply with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) and implemented at two Los Angeles Unified School District (Los Angeles Unified or District) elementary school campus: Lanai Road ES and Sherman Oaks EC (Project). At Lanai Road ES, the Project consists of the installation of three 20' x 30' cantilever shade structures that are approximately 14 feet high (Exhibit A). The Project will also include minor site work associated with ADA upgrades such as installing new drinking fountain and new pedestrian gates. At Sherman Oaks EC, the Project consists of the installation of a 40' x 30' fabric shade structure approximately 17'-8" high and a 2,000-square-foot play structure matting area (Exhibit B). The Project will also include minor site work associated with ADA upgrades such as installing new drinking fountain, a few door hardware, and modified existing ramp railing.

The Project consists of the installation of new freestanding shade structures and minor site work to comply with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) and implemented on each elementary school campus. The Project will not generate growth or require the addition or construction of new or expanded facilities. Therefore, the Project fulfills the requirements of CEQA Guidelines Section 15301. The Project consists of the installation of new freestanding shade structures and minor site work to comply with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) and implemented on each elementary school campus. The shade structures qualify as new, small facilities or structures. Therefore, the Project fulfills the requirements of CEQA Guidelines Section 15303. The Project consists of the installation of new freestanding shade structures and minor site work to comply with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) and implemented on each elementary school campus. These structures are minor accessories to an existing school campus. Therefore, the Project satisfies the requirements of CEQA Guidelines Section 15311.
