Notice of Exemption

Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
15301 Existing Facilities and 15303 New Construction
Reasons for Exemption
The City of San Diego determined that the project would qualify to be categorically exempt from CEQA pursuant to Section 15301, Existing Facilities which allows for additions to existing facilities that will not result in in an increase of more than 50 percent of the floor area of the structure before the addition. Since the proposed project is an addition of 434- square-feet which is less than 50 percent of the floor area of the existing residence the exemption is appropriate; and where the exceptions listed in Section 15300.2 would not apply.
