Document Description
The project will reline approximately 9,000 feet of existing 96-inch diameter prestressed concrete pipe along Pipeline 5 of the Second Aqueduct. Project work will include excavation of portals along the pipeline to provide access, installation of a steel liner, and rehabilitation/repair of ancillary facilities and structures along the relined pipeline including installation of a new isolation vault. Project work will be limited to the existing Water Authority’s right-of-way and temporarily impacted areas will be returned to pre-impact condition following construction.

The work activities consist of repair, maintenance, and replacement, of existing public facilities, involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond that existing at the time this notice was executed. Maintenance and replacement of existing facilities and construction of new small structures are specifically categorically exempted from CEQA per the Water Authority's Administrative Code implementing CEQA [§8.00.060(a)1(i); §8.00.060(a)2(i); §8.00.060(a)3(i)].
