Document Description
Project proposes drilling a well and installing a backup power system (inside a shipping container) at near the Gold Bluff Beach Campground in Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park to provide a reliable source of potable water for the existing campground. Work will: For the well: - Utilize a commercial well drilling company to establish an 8-in. diameter by 120-ft deep well; - Pour a 6 ft. x 8 ft. x 6-in. thick concrete slab around the well casing; and - Install a wooden structure, no more than 7 ft. tall, over the well opening. For the backup power: - Excavate four (4) 6-8-in deep holes and place four (4) 12-in. x 8-in. x 12-in concrete piers; - Set the shipping container on the piers and anchor with hurricane tie down anchors; - Install solar panels to fully cover the shipping container roof; - Install a backup generator, bank of batteries, and solar system controls; - Excavate 24-in deep x 18-in wide trenches between the shipping container, the well and the existing campground restroom; and - Install 3-in. electrical line conduit, a spare 2-in. electrical line conduit and a ¾-in. propane gas line.
