Document Description
CDCR Office of Internal Affairs, leases an approximately 8,017 square foot office located in Bakersfield, CA. It was originally requested that the staff would expand into another suite in addition to the suite that is currently occupied. It has now been determined that expansion will not be needed. The onsite staff initially wanted a 2-year firm and 2-year soft term lease. After consulting with DGS, they have been advised that it would need to be a 4-year firm 4-year soft term lease. The tenant improvement list has been changing and onsite staff is working on determining what the tenant improvements will be which would include, but not limited to setting up work space partitions, installing drop ceilings, new carpet and possibly staff restrooms.

Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
Categorical Exemption Class 1, CEQA Guidelines Section 15301
Reasons for Exemption
The project is categorically exempt from CEQA under the “Class 1” (14 CCR §15301) exemption per the CEQA Guidelines because the project involves negligible to no expansion of use. The project site is not in an environmentally sensitive area and none of the exceptions to this exemption are applicable. This is one of a class of projects that the Secretary for Resources has found do not have a significant effect on the environment, and therefore is declared to be categorically exempt from the requirement for preparing an environmental document.
