Document Description
The project consists of the installation of a solar photovoltaic (PV) system on vacant land located in the north-east portion of the Lancaster WRP. The accessory structure will generate approximately 16,520 MWh of power annually to be used for the Lancaster WRP. The solar energy system will use PV panels which will utilize crystalline silicon wafers to convert sunlight to electricity. The panels are covered in anti-reflective glass that protects the silicon wafers and ensures maximum light is captured. Rows of panels will be placed approximately 9 to 11 feet apart to avoid interrow shading. Access roads will be constructed in between the rows of modules and around the perimeter. The system also contains a battery that will store the energy generated until needed. The total project footprint is approximately 1,110,000 square feet.
