Reasons for Exemption
The City of San Diego determined that the project would qualify to be categorically exempt from CEQA pursuant to Section 15301, Existing Facilities which allows for
demolition of existing facilities and Section 15303, New Construction which allows for the construction of up to three dwelling units on each legal parcel. Since the proposed project is an demolition of existing residence and the construction of a new dwelling unit and ADU on each legal lot, the exemption is appropriate; and whe.re the exceptions listed in Section 15300.2 would not apply.
