Document Description
Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) owns and operates the Manzanita Tank, a 0.25 MG tank located in Moreno Valley, California, and constructed in 1953. The tank has existing inlet/outlet control and isolation valves that are located in a below grade concrete vault. Currently the inlet/outlet piping, valves, and fittings take up the majority of the space in the vault, resulting in limited workspace for routine maintenance to be performed. Due to the age of the tank, the inlet/outlet piping, valving and fittings have reached the end of their useful life and are need of replacement. The Manzanita Tank Piping Replacement Project (project) will demolish the existing below grade vault and relocate the existing inlet/outlet piping system within a security enclosure constructed above grade. The project will also improve operator safety and improve reliability of the tank.
