The project consists of Department of General Services (DGS) granting a right-of-entry permit for the California Fire Foundation in the Sacramento, California to make upgrades to the existing California Firefighters Memorial. Work consists of excavation for new hardscaping to upgrade the two entrances, reorganizing the existing statues, installation of new interpretive panels, installation of a new Fire's Out sculpture, the addition of add 8 new wedge-shaped walls for additional names on the memorial, installation of new landscaping, and lighting. The Firefighter's memorial is located east of 13th Street between L and N streets. The law requires the planning and construction of the memorial through private funds. This is not a state-funded project.
