Document Description
Conduct geotechnical investigations at the bus maintenance facility at Hearst San Simeon State Historical Monument to identify soil conditions underneath existing asphalt to help guide future remodeling and installation of additional facilities at this site. Work will use a truck-mounted drill, equipped with hollow-stem augers and/or solid flight augers to drill up to five (5) exploratory borings, up to 30-ft in depth, in the vicinity of the existing parking lot and adjacent to the existing maintenance facility. Representative soil samples will be recorded for future analysis and the borings will be back-filled with the cuttings and, if in paved areas, capped with cold patch asphalt concrete.
