Reasons for Exemption
The proposed project is consistent with the Class 2 exemption. All sewer facilities involved in the Project are publicly owned utilities. The Project is necessary to correct structural deficiencies within the sewer mains, which involves restoration or rehabilitation of deteriorated or damaged structures, in order to meet public health standards for sewer conveyance facilities, as is consistent with a Section 15302(c) exemption. There is no expansion of capacity. None of the exceptions to Categorical Exemptions set forth in the CEQA Guidelines, Section 15300.2, apply to the project.
