Document Description
This project will renovate and update existing space at the Main Hospital for four units: Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT), Fetal Care Ultrasound, Patient Discharge, and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Trailer. Interior renovations include updating the electrical, plumbing, mechanical and nurse call system; installing office furniture and medical equipment; replacing flooring, wall and ceiling finishes; renovating existing staff restrooms to create accessible and compliant spaces; and modifications to Elevator #8 for Americans with Disabilities Act accessible features. The project includes minor exterior modifications to construct a concrete pad with utility infrastructure to support a MRI trailer; demolishing an old emergency room canopy; providing landscape and hardscape to incorporate the concrete pad; providing electrical wiring and commissions the trailer; and installing new medical equipment and office furniture.

This project includes repairs and renovations to the existing interior and exterior space with no expansion of existing use. This project qualifies as categorically exempt under Exemption Class 1 of the Guidelines for the Implementation to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). This exemption applies to the operation, repair, maintenance or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities or mechanical equipment, involving negligible or no expansion of the existing use. In addition, none of the exceptions for application of a categorical exemption apply to this project.
