Document Description
Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) owns and operates the Hemet Water Filtration Plant (HWFP). The HWFP uses ultrafiltration membrane technology to treat unfiltered water from the Stat Water Project. Automatic Self-Cleaning Strainer Filters (Bollfilters) are part of the pretreatment process. The Bollfilters remove particulates from the raw water, safeguarding downstream processes and protecting the membranes from abrasion. The existing Bollfilters were installed in 2005 and are nearing the end of their useful life.
The HWFP Bollfilter Replacement Project (project) involves the installation of new Bollfilter units, installation of adjoining piping and associated components; in addition to any demolition, electrical, mechanical, and structural work needed to ensure the Bollfilters are fully operational and seamlessly integrated within the existing treatment facility.
