Document Description
The goal of the project is to enhance oak woodland habitat, and improve vernal pool and nesting bird habitat. The project consists of 1) removal of hazardous fence (8,905 linear feet) and accumulated trash to ensure safe passage by all wildlife across the property 2) blue oak woodland habitat enhancement (22 acres) to release overstory oak trees, enhance health of and acorn production of mature oaks, 3) mixed oak habitat restoration (34.5 acres) through diversification of habitat types, corridors, structure and composition, health of mature oaks, natural regeneration, and creation of wildlife habitat brush piles (38) and 4) installation of nesting bird boxes (20) to provide additional nesting locations for cavity nesting birds.
