The 23.56-acre project site is located at 10059 Twin Cities Road, northwest of the intersection of Twin Cities Road and State Route (SR) 99/Stockton Boulevard, in the City of Galt, California. The site is a portion of a parcel identified by Assessor’s Parcel Number (APN) 148-001-0053. Currently, the site is undeveloped and owned by the City of Galt. Undeveloped agricultural land occurs to the north, south, and west of the project site. Surrounding existing uses include the City of Galt Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) to the east. The City of Galt General Plan designates the site as Public/Quasi-Public (PQ) and the site is zoned PQ.
Document Description
The proposed project would include the development of a 413,800-square-foot (sf) solid waste transfer facility, which would consist of the following components: a transfer station building, a construction and demolition materials outdoor processing area, an organic material receiving building, an organic material processing area, an administrative and operational support services building, a repair and maintenance building and fueling canopy, a household hazardous waste building, a public recycling center, and scale house buildings. In addition, the proposed project would include the construction of new internal drive aisles and surface parking areas; associated utility improvements, including fire water storage tanks and a pump house; and landscaping and fencing. The proposed project would require City approval of a Conditional Use Permit (CUP).
