Document Description
Project Description: The project will Repair base failures and resurface the entire 2.84 miles of Wilson Hill Rd from Marshall-Petaluma Rd to Chileno Valley Rd. All work will take place entirely within Marin County’s right of way and will generally occur within a cross-sectional width of 28-feet. This total width includes two 12-foot-wide travel lanes and 24-inches of shoulder backing at each pavement edge. The paving work will be performed using the process of base failure repairs (up to 12-inches deep), a SAMI interlayer of rubberized chip seal followed by a hot-mix asphalt overlay (up to 2.5-inches thick), which will strengthen the roadway structural section. The project will also include minor shoulder work to provide consistent pavement width, placement of shoulder backing material, striping with traffic paint, and adjustment of existing
utility valve boxes to final elevation. The project scope does not include work of any kind within the road-side ditches or to the underlying drainage culverts.
