Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), using state funding, is proposing to replace eight culverts along State Route 299 in Modoc County at post-miles (PM) 8.32, PM 9.02, PM 11.70, PM 11.92, PM 12.42, PM 12.50, PM 12.55, and PM 12.85. Deteriorating culverts can lead to undermining of the roadway and lead to potential roadway failure if not addressed. The replacement of these culverts will also allow for the improvements in design to meet higher traffic safety standards. Vegetation work will be completed by hand trimming. This project will reestablish proper drainage and structural integrity of eight culverts along the highway.
