Document Description
An Emergency Bypass Agreement related to the temporary operation of an emergency bypass of the Devil's Den Pumping Plant {DDPP) on the Coastal Branch of the California Aqueduct. In response to an unplanned outage of the DDPP. an emergency bypass system was placed within Kern County Water Agency facilities in order to deliver water to the San Luis Obispo Flood and Water Conservation District's State Water Project (SWP) subcontractors and the Central Coast Water Authority (CCWA). The Emergency Bypass was utilized to ensure SWP water deliveries were able to meet critical demand from the District and CCWA until adequate pumping capacity at DDPP was reestablished on or about October 19. 2023.
