Document Description
Turlock Irrigation District (TID) is approving several groundwater recharge projects ("Projects") to maximize the efficient use of water during periods when high precipitation events result in pre-flood, flood and local storm flows. These Projects will utilize existing TID and private infrastructure to convey a portion of these flows onto Turlock Subbasin open lands, working lands and basins where recharge events would help mitigate groundwater conditions while also pulling potentially damaging flows off the river system. There are over 250 miles of gravity fed TID canals, 40 existing basins 1,500 miles of existing private pipelines and ditches served by over 1,400 existing turnouts.
