The approval of the California Wildlife Conservation Board’s grant agreement, receipt of funds, and fee title acquisition of land for conservation is categorically exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15061(b)(3), due to there being no potential for this action causing a significant effect on the environment. The acquisition of the Redwing Ranch North Property is categorically exempt from CEQA pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15308 (Actions by Regulatory Agencies for Protection of the Environment) and Section 15313 (Acquisition of Lands for Wildlife Conservation Purposes) since the acquisition of the property would result in preservation of fish and wildlife habitat and would assure the maintenance, restoration, enhancement, or protection of the environment.
