Document Description
Sonoma County Department of Public Infrastructure will repair a bank failure on E. Austin Creek Road. Rain events occurring in January 2024 caused erosion and bank slip out of approximately 15 linear feet up to the edge of pavement of East Austin Creek Road in the community of Cazadero. This project consists of structural excavation to remove loose soil then installation rock slope protection. Hot mix asphalt placed to help divert water away from the slip out location. Work will occur outside flowing water and only above ordinary highwater elevation. Erosion and sediment control BMPs will be used and installed at each worksite.

The proposed project is categorically exempt from environmental review pursuant to Sections 15301 [Existing Facilities] and 15302 [Replacement or Reconstruction] of the Guidelines for Implementation of CEQA. Section 1530 J (c} exempts the repair or minor alteration of existing highways and streets, sidewalks, gutters, bicycle and pedestrian trails, and similar facilities. Section 15302(c} exempts the replacement or reconstruction of existing utility systems and/or facilities involving negligible or no expansion of capacity. No exceptions listed under Section 15300.2 apply. There is no reasonable possibility that the project would have a significant effect on the environment.
