Document Description
The North Beach entrance road to Emma Wood State Beach provides public access to low-cost overnight coastal recreational opportunities. The entrance road has been subject to frequent wave run-up resulting in deterioration of the seawall protecting the entrance road over the past two to three decades. The existing shoreline protection includes rock revetment, steel sheet pile and concrete parapet walls, of which approximately 170 linear feet have failed. Short-terms repairs will include rock revetment repair, flood barrier wall (k-rail) replacement, road grading, new pavement and road drainage. This strategy will maintain the existing road for public access in the short term, while providing opportunity to monitor coastal activity and plan a strategy for long term park use.
