Document Description
The Gray Lodge Wildlife Area Solar Project (Proposed Project) is a solar Photovoltaic power generation system that would include 468 ground-mounted solar arrays that would occupy 35,000 square feet. The Proposed Project will convert sunlight to Direct Current electrical power that would then be converted to Alternating Current by string inverters before being delivered to the PG&E distribution system. The total system is expected to be approximately 204 kilowatts. The Proposed Project would support energy reduction goals, the Global Warming Solutions Act, and Governor’s Green Building Order S-20-04.

The Project Site is within the Gray Lodge Wildlife Area. The Project is located southwest of the intersection of Farris Road and West Liberty Road in the northeast corner of the Gray Lodge Wildlife Area in Butte County, California. The Project Area corresponds to portions of Sections 6 and 7, Township 17 North, Range 02 East (Mount Diablo Base and Meridian) within the “Pennington, California” 7.5-minute quadrangle (U.S. Geological Survey 1954 [photorevised 1973]). The approximate center of the Study Area is located at latitude 38.346938° and longitude -121.783179° (NAD83). The Study Area is within the Butte Creek watershed (Hydrologic Unit Code #18020158; Natural Resources Conservation Service et al. 2016).
