Document Description
The project is limited to the installation of a prefabricated full span bridge across Hinkle Creek. The new 42-foot long and 16-foot-wide bridge will be secured on top of two reinforced-concrete abutments. Granular backfill will be placed behind the excavated abutments to create the structures the bridge will be secured to. The footings of the abutments will be located outside the upper banks of the channel to ensure no impacts to the riparian habitat associated with the unnamed tributary will occur. A crane will be used to lower the prefabricated bridge into place and align with two 14-foot-wide asphalt paved approaches. Additionally, an 8-inch sewer pipe will be installed, and will connect to an existing manhole on the bank of
Hinkle Creek. Trenching will be used to install the sewer line and will be backfilled with stockpiled material. After the installation of the new bridge structure is complete, an existing wood bridge will be removed, and the debris disposed of off-site. No native trees will be removed as a result of the bridge installation.
