Reasons for Exemption
The project has been environmentally reviewed pursuant to the provisions of the California Quality Act (Public Resources Code Sections 21000, et seq. ("CEQA"), the State CEQA Guidelines (California Code of Regulations, Title 14, Sections 15000, et seq.), and the City's Local CEQA Guidelines. The Project's scope of work consists of the installation of a shade structure, back building, and an audio and lighting system. The project meets the criteria under a Categorical Exemption and is exempt from CEQA per Section 15301, as there is negligible or no expansion of existing use beyond the original condition of the Central Park amphitheater. The Central Park amphitheater and stage were evaluated in the Town Center Specific Plan Environmental Impact Report (EIR), were constructed as part of the Central Park facilities, and are currently in operation.
