Document Description
This project is part of Phase 3 of the Fire Adapted 50 regional vision. It will foster healthy forests, reduce fuel loads, and improve emergency use in the 11-mile Highway 50 corridor between Placerville and Pollock Pines. Prioritizing low-income communities and building shaded fuel breaks near the highway, it will lead to reduced wildfire risk, less dense and more resilient forest stands, better protected infrastructure, safer public evacuation, and enhanced fire-fighting capability.
