Document Description
Perform exploratory borings within an existing roadway and adjacent eroded slope in Morro Strand State Beach that was damaged by the late winter storms of 2023. Findings from the tests will guide the future reconstruction of the road. Within the prism of the road, work will bore four (4) holes down to 25-ft deep and complete an additional hand auger boring in the adjacent eroded slope. A small representative soil sample will be recorded for future analysis and the holes will be backfilled with excavated soils and neat cement grout. Excess soil cuttings will be spread onsite and racked or smoothed to original grade. Borings in paved areas will be patched with black-dyed concrete. Drip pans will be installed below vehicles to capture leaking fluids and waddles will be placed around drilling equipment when not in use. If rain is predicted during drilling operations, BMPs to prevent soil run-off will be installed. In case of rain, stockpiled soil cuttings will be covered with visqueen and bermed around the perimeter.
