Document Description
This project includes three soil borings (20-40 ft below surface), geotechnical investigation (3 pits 8 ft deep by 8 ft long), the building of a foundation, barracks (4,192 sq ft), and associated utilities in underground lines. Utility lines in conduit will be laid in a trench that is approximately 5 ft deep, and 280 ft long. The existing fence and gate will be demolished. Parking and access areas will be graded and paved with 4-inch of asphalt over 8-inch aggregate base with a total area to be paved of less than one acre. Additionally, curb/gutters/sidewalks, site lighting, site fencing, landscaping, and irrigation will be constructed. The Chico Air Attack Base is in an industrial park associated with an airport surrounded by grassland at an elevation of 251 feet. The project area is approximately 300 ft from the Chico Municipal Airport runway. Construction is estimated to take approximately 12 months.

The project will construct preliminary groundwork and construct barracks on existing disturbed areas within an active Air Attack Base. No new ground disturbance will occur and not impacts to special status species or plants will occur.
