Document Description
Location: 3337 County Road 307, Elk Creek, CA 95939 Leach line replacement will include digging a trench to remove the remnants of the previous leach line that was destroyed during the 2020 August Complex Fire. The trench will be dug using excavators and backhoes and will utilize the same layout as the previous leach line that spans from the wet well on the compound to the spray fields to the east. Approximately 1600 feet of new 2-inch PVC pipe will be laid by hand 1 foot below the surface. The trench will be filled with gravel by a front-end loader prior to pipe installation and will be buried and graded to restore the proper slope to the disturbed area. Sprinklers and risers in the spray fields will be assessed and replaced as deemed necessary. Leech line replacement is expected to be implemented spring of 2024. Asphalt replacement will include removing the existing asphalt and base rock in the parking area on the compound and replacing with new asphalt. Approximately 2.10 acres of parking area asphalt and 3216 feet of roadway asphalt will be replaced under this project in 4 phases. Phase 1 is expected to be implemented in the spring of 2024, Phase 2 is expected to be implemented in the spring of 2025, Phase 3 is expected to be implemented in the spring of 2026 and Phase 4 is expected to be implemented in the spring of 2027. Once existing asphalt is removed, subgrade will be scarified, moistened, and compacted to 95% relative compaction before placement of base course. Asphalt and base shall be graded to achieve the same flow lines as the existing asphalt. This project will utilize several pieces of heavy equipment to perform work, such as backhoes, excavators, dozers, graders, wheeled loaders, roller compactors, cement trucks and water tenders.
