Reasons for Exemption
The Arcata Ball Park Improvement Project involves replacement of existing structures and minor additions to the existing Ball Park. Replacement of the front facade, entryway and walkways qualify as Replacement of Existing Structures (CEQA Guidelines Sec. 15302), which allows for the reconstruction of existing facilities where the new facility will be located on the same site and have the same purpose. Minor additions to the Ball Park will not result in an increase in capacity of the Ball Park and qualify as Minor Alterations of existing structures (CEQA Guidelines Sec. 15301).
