Document Description
The purpose of this project is to restore native vegetation cover to approx. 2.23 acres of barren land and improve the Red Tail and Cougar trails in the southwestern portion of Zone 3 within Prairie City State Vehicular Recreational Area in an effort to reduce soil erosion from wind, water and visitor use. Work will consist of: For the Red Tail and Cougar Trail Improvements: • Outslope and regrade trails to allow for better sheet flow during storm events • If needed, recapture soil from sediment basins to achieve desired surface inclines • Install rolling dips and build both trails out to a 16-ft width For revegetation work: • Rip the existing soil and recontour the site • Use sediment basin soil and amendments to supplement the existing soil • Hydroseed with a mix of growth medium and California native seed
