Document Description
The proposed project would improve the main 17th Street entrance to the SAC campus. The proposed project would include the removal of the existing asphalt/concrete and curbs, four ornamental trees, an existing catch basin, handrail and shrubs, turf and planters. The proposed project would repave and extend the vehicle drive aisles and pedestrian walkways within the existing property lines.

Reasons for Exemption
The proposed project would replace the existing driveways and pedestrian walkways on the project site with new driveways, a pick-up/drop-off loop and pedestrian walkways/plaza along with associated improvements (landscaping, medians, monument, etc.) that would serve a similar purpose and function as the current driveways, pedestrian walkways, and associated site improvements that currently exist on the project site. The proposed project would not increase enrollment nor enrollment capacity at Santa Ana College. Therefore, the proposed project is categorically exempt under classes 2, 3, and 11. The demolition of Russell Hall was evaluated and approved in 2012. The proposed project was reviewed for possible exceptions under Section 15300.2 and found that the exceptions do not apply.
