Document Description
San Joaquin Field Division (SJFD) plans to use modified PVC "T" bait stations to control ground squirrel populations. The bait stations will be constructed and placed at several pumping plants and check sites at the SJFD, the San Joaquin O&M center, and the Lost Hills O&M center. Bait stations will be filled with an anticoagulant (.005% diphacinone). This poison was recommended for use by a Pest Control Advisor. Bait stations will be left out throughout the year, but baiting will only occur between March to November, or until a decrease in ground squirrel activity is detected. Baiting is necessary to protect State Water Project property from ground squirrel damage.
