The facility has operated since completing installation on approximately April 29, 2020. The existing CDP waiver is valid until at least October 29, 2023. Reasons for Exemption
This project involves issuing a Coastal Development Permit that authorizes extending the use, providing shelter for people experiencing homelessness, of the existing bridge housing facility located at 100 E. Sunset Avenue in Venice, California, from the termination of the existing CDP waiver for the facility, which was issued by the Coastal Commission, through December 31, 2024. After the anticipated cease of operations on December 31, 2024, the facility would be removed during approximately 6 months. The approximate 6-month period for removing the facilities was previously contemplated, and it does not change from the prior approvals by City Council and the Coastal Commission.
