Document Description
The Alameda County Flood Control and Water Conservation District (District) owns and maintains J-3 pump station. The J-3 pump station was constructed in 1975 and serves the J-3 drainage in Union City. In December of 2018, the District prepared a condition assessment for each of its pump stations, which identified various deficiencies. This project address the deficiencies at the J-3 the pump station. This assessment report identified the need for the replacement of the existing diesel generator with a new diesel generator as parts are no longer available for the old generator. The existing fuel tank would also be taken out and disposed of properly and a new belly fuel tank would be installed for the new generator; new motor starters, 30k VA transformer, panelboard, LED lighting and lighting panel will also be replaced. The new electrical systems upgrades at the J-3 pump station would result in more energy efficient operations and extend the service life of the District’s flood control pump station.
