Document Description
The project will restore and repair eight (8) statue pedestals located by the Roman Pool at Hearst San Simeon State Historical Monument to restore the historical look and to reduce the potential for damage from seismic activities. Work will: - Remove the statues from the pedestals; - Remove the non- historic paint from the pedestals; - Repair the wood and historic Masonite; - Replace materials with in- kind materials, where necessary; and - Reattach the statues and secure them to reduce potential earthquake damage.

This project consists of the operation, repair, maintenance or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond current levels and project limited to maintenance, repair, stabilization, rehabilitation, restoration, preservation, conservation or reconstruction of historical resources in a manner consistent with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties with Guidelines for Preserving, Rehabilitating, Restoring, and Reconstructing Historic Buildings (1995), Weeks and Grimmer.
