Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes to remove existing bike lane pavement delineation to place new striping and install signs to enhance bicyclist safety on State Route (SR) 12, in San Joaquin County, from postmile 14.9 to 18.6. The scope of the project will consist of grinding pavement to remove existing delineation prior to restriping and placing green paint and install “Bicycle/Share the Road” signs. All construction will occur within the State Right-of-Way. The purpose of this project is to extend the service life of the bike lane. The need of this project is to improve bicyclist safety and driver awareness by adding features that help prevent motorists from entering the bike lanes.
