Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has amended Lake Alteration Agreement Notification No. EPIMS-VEN-25955-R5, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Southern California Edison (SCE) as represented by Hazem Gabr.
The project is limited to the removal of one dilapidated wood power pole and the installation of a new wood pole and sonotube located in wetlands near McGrath Lake, 4.5 miles west of Oxnard. The new pole and sonotube will be set within 3 feet of the existing pole. Dewatering of the excavation site is included if groundwater is encountered during excavation work. The project will include temporary impacts up to 65 cubic yards of soil excavation for the pole replacement, temporary impacts up to 0.045 acres of vegetation from overland travel and vegetation trimming, and permanent impacts up to 3.14 square feet (0.00007 acres) from vegetation clearance around the pole. All areas impacted from ground-disturbing activities, including access routes, will be returned to pre-construction condition.

The project consists of removal and replacement of one deteriorated wooden distribution pole. No expansion of use is proposed. The project is exempt because it involves the maintenance of existing structures and/or facilities used to provide electric power and to meet public health and safety standards and consists of minor alteration to topographical features.
