Document Description
Caltrans proposes to upgrade pavement markings and traffic signs with transverse rumble strips, and solar powered LED stop signs on State Route (SR) 247 at Post Mile (PM) 44.6 and 46.1. The proposed work would eliminate the constant replacement of existing Bot Dots and broadside dark time collisions, which exposes the maintenance crew to live traffic. The work at PM 44.6 installs transverse rumble strips, flashing beacons with conduit trenched 30” deep on all four approaches of traffic at SR-247 and Barstow Road intersection. The work at PM 46.1 replaces the stop signs on Rabbit Springs Road at the intersection of SR-247 with solar powered LED stop signs. All work will be performed inside the existing Right-of-Way (ROW).
