Document Description
The Coachella Valley Water District (“CVWD”) is proposing to submit an application for right-of-way (“ROW”) to renew its recently expired rights for the existing Avenue 71 agricultural drainage underground line for a proposed 50-year term. This ROW is over and across Torres Martinez Desert Cahuilla Indians (Torres Martinez) Allotments 70 and 72 located in Riverside County, Assessor Parcel Numbers 749-210-010 and 749-200-002. The ROW is approximately 2.29 acres. CVWD’s rights expired on April 21, 2020, and were recorded on May 21, 1970, as Instrument No. 47878, Official Records of Riverside County. No ground disturbance or construction is included within the ROW application. The project site is not located with or immediately adjacent to a conservation area associated with the Coachella Valley Multiples Species Habitat Conservation Plan (CVMSHCP). CVWD maintains coverage for maintenance activities in agricultural drains through its participation as permitted in the CVMSHCP.
