Document Description
This project is an upgrade to the electrical slide gate that discharges from the Singh Reservoir into the Nectarine Lateral. Currently, sediment build-up does not allow the gate to close entirely. The knife-type gate is designed to close without becoming stuck in the sediment and allows lID to conserve non-storable discharges. Upon completion,
the conserved. water yield from this project is estimated to be approximately 600 acre-feet per year.

Reasons for Exemption
IID has reviewed the project and determined that the project is exempt from further environmental analysis as a categorical exemption under the CEQA, CA Public Resources Code Sections 21000 et sea., and specifically under section 15302 of the State CEQA Guidelines, Title 14 of the CA Code of Regulations, Chapter 3, Section 15302 provides a Class 2 categorical exemption for replacement or reconstruction of existing structures and facilities where the new structure will be located on the same site as the structure replaced and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the structure replaced, including but not limited to the replacement or reconstruction of existing utility systems and/or facilities involving negligible or no expansion of capacity.
