Document Description
The purpose of the Project is to relieve traffic congestion from Redding northward outside the city limits. The Permittee is proposing to add a lane in each direction of Interstate 5 (I-5) from postmile (PM) R14.8 to PM R20.0. Most of the widening will occur in the median of the existing roadway except for 0.5 mile of outside widening between PMs 18.8 and 19.28. To accommodate the widening of I-5, the Permittee will need to widen seven overcrossings and one bridge (Churn Creek Bridge) and remove or reconfigure 17 culverts within the project limits.
