Document Description
The project is limited to the installation of approximately 40 linear feet of rip-rap rock slope protection (RSP) to stabilize an eroding embankment on an island within Hat Creek, and the stabilization of an existing gully that is causing scour at the eastside concrete wingwall of the island’s existing diversion infrastructure by adding approximately 1600 cubic feet of fill and willow stakes (Project).
RSP, with a rock-stabilized toe, will be placed from the eastside concrete wingwall of the diversion infrastructure to the southern end of the island. Willow poles will be planted within the RSP along the stabilized bank line. A small, clean excavator will be used to place the RSP and fill from the west side of Hat Creek. If the excavator is unable to reach the entirety of the bank line, the contractor will build a rock platform using clean gravel sized appropriately for local trout spawning. Gravel will be dispersed after the platform is no longer in use, to create additional spawning substrate for trout.
