The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes to replace existing vertical clearance gauges on the Sacramento River Elkhorn and Bryte Bend bridges to meet current design standards. The bridges currently do not meet the requirements for vertical clearance gauges pursuant to 33 CFR 118.160 for size, placement, and other observational parameters.
