Document Description
Install regulatory signs at the edge of the Santa Rosa Creek Natural Preserve in San Simeon State Park in order to protect the sensitive resources within the Preserve. Work will: - Use hand shovels and a post hole digger to excavate a 5-foot deep x 30-inch wide post hole; - Install a 20-inch diameter, 10-foot long, peeler core post and secure with rocks and sand; and - Install a “no dogs beyond this point” sign, along with other regulatory signs, on the post.

Reasons for Exemption
This project consists of the operation, repair, maintenance, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond current levels; construction and location of limited numbers of new, small facilities or structures included as "signage" in the Department of Parks and Recreation's list of exempt activities in accordance with CCR §15300.4; and minor public or private alterations in the condition of land, water, and/or vegetation which do not involve removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees except for forestry and agricultural purposes.
